Tour overview
Salleri Everest Base Camp Trek takes quite close to the footsteps of the early expeditions to Everest Base Camp. It is also known by Phaplu Everest Base Camp Trek.
The construction of the roadway that connects Salleri from Kathmandu took place quite recently. Before that, the Phaplu Everest Base Camp trek was possible only through a flight.
The Salleri Everest Base Camp trek starts after 9-10 Hrs by bus to Salleri. This bus ride offers scenic views of villages, high hills, and Mt. Everest from Patale Village. Salleri is merely 20 minutes of a trek away from Phaplu. From Salleri, you will trek for 4 days before getting to Phakding. From Phakding, you will join the regular Everest Base Camp trek. Thus, it is a very good alternative to Jiri Everest Base Camp Trek.
Salleri (Phaplu) Everest Base Camp Trek is also a very good way of acclimatizing to the high altitude of the Everest region. This trek starts from an altitude of 2300 meters. This makes the process of acclimatization very good.
In this Salleri (Phaplu) Everest Base Camp Trek, you visit places like Tengboche Monastery and Kala Pathar. Tengboche Monastery gives you a sense of the culture of Tibetan Buddhism in the Everest region.
The morning sunrise views of the mountains from Kala Patthar are also equally astounding. Kala Patthar is the best place to see Mt. Everest in the Everest region trek. It also offers beautiful views of Nuptse and Changtse.

Salleri (Phaplu) Everest Base Camp Trek by Swagat Holiday Treks & Expedition has everything a good trekking route has to offer. It is relatively quiet, takes you over the off-beaten trails; while offering majestic views of the mountains, dense forest, suspension bridges, scenic cultural villages, and more.

Best Time for Salleri (Phaplu) Everest Base Camp Trek
The two best seasons for the Salleri (Phaplu) Everest Base Camp Trek are Spring (March, April, and May) and Autumn (September, October, and November).
These two seasons have low precipitation, moderate sunshine, extremely low wind speeds, and delightful views of the mountains. All of these make trekking in these two seasons perfect.
Winter (December, January, and February) in the Everest region is quite cold. The temperature in the winter can get to even-20 degrees C in the nighttime. With proper packing, you can deal with the cold. Winter also gives you the most wonderful views of the mountains. You will enjoy off-season discounts in the winter.
The trekking trails might be wet in the summers due to the monsoon. So there are always chances of interruptions. So you always have to watch out for the weather. You also have to keep some spare days as well as pack properly.

Salleri (Phaplu) Everest Base Camp Trek Difficulty
The starting point of the Salleri (Phaplu) Everest Base Camp Trek is Salleri. This is quite different from the regular Everest Base Camp Trek that starts from Lukla. So you have to trek an additional 4 days to get to Phakding.
This makes the Salleri (Phaplu) Everest Base Camp Trek a bit more strenuous than the regular Everest Base Camp Trek. You will trek for a total of 13 days during the Salleri (Phaplu) Everest Base Camp Trek. You will cover approximately 15 km each day trekking 5-6 hours each day.
