We in fact get pleasure from the inaccessibility of facilities in the area and absolute nature. We can decide on to go via any of the probable trails-either taking a climb over the hill northwest of Chhukung over the moraine of the Nuptse Glacier or we might walk back down the valley to Bibre and follow a high trail above the Niyang Khola. Just after some walk, there are great views of Island Peak valley and Jagged ridge of Amphu Lapcha. Ascending along the east side of Niyang Khola valley, we turn west and walk through the sloppy stony trial. We enter a wide basin dotted with small frozen lakes. The trail rises over loose scree gaining the Kongma La after about five hours we leave Chhukung. Upon reaching the top we seen cairn wrapped in prayer flags, marks of the pass. Behind us is the landscape of icy lakes ahead down of which is the Khumbu Glacier. The final descent is the most difficult stage of the trek today, upon climbing the moraine on the far side, the trail turns north through Khumbu Glacier which takes us to Lobuche. Take packed lunch today because not any tea house along the way till Lobuche. We will stay overnight at Lobuche.

Everest but the farfetched view of Khumbu icefall. We trek back to Gorak Shep for overnight.

After crossing a stream we approach through a branch and later twisting round to the wide gruff river bed of the flow, the track runs crossways and climbs the edge to the front. From the green ridge in front, we can see towering heights of Ama Dablam and Kangtega-Thamserku while Tawache looms outstandingly ahead. Pheriche village is also noticeable down on the valley floor. As the ridge changes direction northward, the vast Cho La Lake spreads below Mt. Cholatse. The lake flows with us over a long extend until we move down to a wide basin. The trail climbs up descends steeply to another broad basin. After walking for half an hour we cross an unsteady bridge and we reach Dzongkha. We will be staying at Dzonglha for overnight.

Day 13: Trek to Thangna via Cross Cho-La Pass (5368m/17611ft.)
The trek today is one of the challenging trips; this embarks on as we incline through a spur widened westward from Dzongla. The lane slides downhill to a basin transversely which strolls a whispering stream coated with ice. We reach the top of the basin in an hour readying for the accomplishment of Chola. The higher we reach the view back gets ever more enchanting. The Cho La Lake comes into sight and the Ama Dablam in its pyramidal personification heads over a range of mountains on the south as Cholaste soars on the west. Mountaineering the incline is not easy; it is steep but made worse by boulders over some of which we will have to scramble. The last climb to the Chola can be a little risky as the trail curves round. Upon getting to the top, we see prayer flags, hung across cairns, flapping in the strong wind. The landscape of majestic in all directions is hallucinating. A bit of cautiousness is needed now when passing through Thangnak if rocks are glazed by ice. We arrive at Thangnak, a rather large and small village. We will stay overnight at Thangna.

The path climbs soothingly up the edge of Gokyo Ri and then meanders hazardously up a finger of the gray screen above the northwest corner of the lake. We precede early-down from the Gokyo valley; we depart there hours where an incredible panorama lies ahead. The Everest itself, Lhotse, Cholatse, and Taboche can be seen glittering in the sun.
